July 06, 2023

Basswood

Basswood is a kind of neutral wood with light weight. The white wood part of basswood is usually quite large, milky white, and gradually incorporated into the light to brownish red heartwood, sometimes with deeper stripes. Wood has fine and uniform textures and fuzzy straight lines. Tilia wood has good mechanical processing ability and is easy to process with hand tools, making it a superior carving material.
Maple

Hard rock maple wood is often used for making piano necks due to its high density, ease of painting, bright sound, and good durability.

Mahogany

Its wood grain is quite beautiful, but it lacks the huge resonance effect of red sandalwood. But due to its distinctive sound and low price, it has become one of the commonly used wood materials for guitars.

Walnut

Walnut wood has beautiful textures, especially after performance processing, it is even more beautiful. Full bass, clear mid to high frequency, but high pitched lacks brightness.

Sapele
It is a kind of wood similar to Mahogany with similar wood color and texture. It is heavier than Mahogany, and the material is slightly brittle, with a high, medium and balanced bottom tone. It is mainly used to make high-grade Electric guitar body and neck, and is also widely used to make wood guitar neck and body materials.
